About Us
Two founding members of our organization, Jing and Jiao both have children who are pediatric cancer warriors. Jing's son battled medulloblastoma, and Jiao's son Joseph fought for Germinoma and Teratoma.
When our children were diagnosed with pediatric cancer, our world was turned upside down. Our lives became a blur of hospital visits, chemotherapy/radiation treatments, and sleepless nights filled with worry and fear. As immigrants from China, we were already navigating the challenges of living in a new country and culture, and now we were faced with the overwhelming task of managing our children's illnesses.
As we navigated the healthcare system and tried to find the best possible care for our child, we saw firsthand the difficulties that many Chinese families face when dealing with pediatric cancer in the United States. Language barriers, cultural differences, and a lack of resources often left families feeling isolated and helpless.
But through it all, we never lost hope. We saw the strength and resilience of our children, and we knew that we had to do something to help other Chinese families in similar situations.
That's why we decided to start a non-profit organization that would provide emotional, financial, and practical support to Chinese pediatric cancer families in the United States. We wanted to create a community where families could come together, share their experiences, and support each other during this difficult time, all while bridging the gap between the Chinese and American cultures.
Through our own journey, we've learned that even in the darkest of times, there is hope. There is strength in community, and by coming together, we can make a difference in the lives of others. We are proud to be parents of a pediatric cancer warrior, and we are even prouder to be part of a community that supports and uplifts each other through the toughest of times.
